Information for people being investigated
Code of conduct investigations are undertaken by a conduct reviewer, or in some cases a conduct review committee, who is independent of council.
After investigating the complaint, the conduct reviewer will determine whether the alleged conduct was, or was not, a breach of the code. The conduct reviewer can also make recommendations about subsequent actions. If the conduct reviewer recommends serious sanctions against a councillor or General Manager, this recommendation will need to be considered by council.
